How to Find eBooks

You can search for eBooks in the library's online catalog or you can search for them on netLibrary's web site.

Searching for eBooks in the Online Catalog

To find an eBook in the online catalog, do a keyword search for "netlibrary". If you go to the Guided Keyword Search screen, you can combine an author search for "netlibrary" with other keyword, title, or subject terms to find eBooks of specific interest to you. Please ask one of the librarians if you have questions about how to search the online catalog.

Once you find a netLibrary title in the online catalog, look at the full record display for that title. The line labeled "Related URL" will have a link that will take you directly to that eBook on the netLibrary web site.

Searching for eBooks in netLibrary

To search for eBooks on the netLibrary web site, you must either be using a computer on Northern's campus or you must first create a personal netLibrary account for yourself. (See netLibrary accounts for more information on how to create a personal netLibrary account.)

Go to http://www.netlibrary.com. If you are using a computer on Northern's campus you will automatically be logged in to Northern's eBook collection. If you connect from off campus, you will have to login to your personal netLibrary account before you can search Northern's ebook collection. Then use keyword or advanced search options to find eBooks in the Northern eBook collection.

Still have questions? Please ask -- we'll be happy to help you.
