Cheryl Henson

Adjunct Professor of Ministry

Cheryl Henson began her duties as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church-Topkea, Kansas on January 1, 2010. Prior to that she served ten years as Regional Associate Minister of Area I of the Great Rivers Region, where she oversaw 57 churches in the northern section of Illinois with additional portfolios for pastoral recruitment, pastor's continuing education, church renewal, and camping curriculum coordinator.

Other areas of her expertise include conflict management, mentoring and preaching. She is a Certfied Natural Church Development Coach and has a certificate in Fundraising Management. Her latest area of interest is Transformational Ministries on both the denominational and church level.

Dr. Henson received her Mastor of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL. Prior to becoming a judicatory official, Cheryl was a local church pastor for 25 years serving in Great Rivers Region.
