Jeffrey S. Hubing
Affiliate Professor of New Testament
Ph.D. Loyola University Chicago (2007)
M.A. Wheaton College Graduate School (1997)
Since 1994, Jeff has been privileged to be both a student and teacher of the Scriptures in academic and local church settings. He holds an M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College Graduate School and a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christianity from Loyola University Chicago. He has taught courses in Scripture and theology locally at Loyola University Chicago and Christian Life College (Mt. Prospect, IL), as well as overseas in Nigeria and India.
Since 1997 he has served in pastoral ministry for non-denominational, multi-ethnic churches in and around Chicago. He currently serves as President and Professor of Practical Theology at FIRE School of Ministry Chicago, an undergraduate training center in Wicker Park, and is a pastoral leader at Abundant Life World Outreach in that same neighborhood. Jeff’s academic and ministry contexts reflect the two primary components of his calling: to teach and train Christian leaders, and to build local churches. His passions for revival and the dynamic presence of God have also been foundational for both his scholarship and congregational ministry.
Jeff and his wife, Carol, live in Lomard, IL with their sons Cadence (‘01) and Isaac (‘04), and daughters Acacia (‘05) and Alina ('09).
