Background
Scott Field has served as the pastor of Wheatland Salem United Methodist Church in Naperville, Illinois since June of 1980. During his tenure the congregation has experienced the joys and pains of transition from a ready-to-close country church to a large, globally involved, suburban, multi-staff congregation. From Pastor Field’s perspective, he has served as the pastor of at least six different churches during his tenure as Sr. Pastor of this congregation. Currently the congregation is undergoing the transformation toward both the simplicity of fresh focus and the complexity of a second location for greater missional impact.
