Joel Gregory

Dr. Joel Gregory joined the Adjunct Faculty of Northern Seminary in 2012 in order to partner with us in building a world-class preaching and leadership Doctor of Ministry program emphasis.  He is the founder and president of Gregory Ministries and the Proclaimer’s Place, both non-profit organizations which support the preaching, teaching and counseling ministries of pastors throughout the United States.  He is Professor of Preaching at the George W. Truett Theology School of Baylor University.

Dr. Gregory is a graduate of Baylor University, Baptist Theological Seminary, has an earned PhD in religion, as well as honorary degrees from Dallas Baptist University and the California Graduate School of Theology.  He followed W.A. Chriswall as senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas.  Gregory has published five books, including Gregory’s Sermon Synopses, Growing Pains of the Soul, a best-selling memoir Too Great a Temptation, and he collaborated with Dr. Frank Pollard in the writing of The Preaching Pastor.
