Northern Seminary has partnered with 3DM to offer students master's and doctoral credit focusing in the area of Discipleship and Mission. Taken from their website,
3DM works with established churches and church plants, coming alongside them to transition a lightweight, low maintenance way of being the church. We do this primarily through a two-year vehicle we called Learning Communities. Ministry Leaders who have journeyed through a Learning Community with their leadership teams have seen a missional and discipleship explosion in their local ministry context.
Students in these programs will reflect theologically on topics in the program as part of a Huddle comprised of others participating in the "scholar track" of the Learning Community. In addition to engaging in these immersive learning experiences, students will work alongside a Northern professor to further integrate and implement the material.
This approach to training through multiple modes of learning in contextual classroom environments is a perfect match with Northern's own mission of making theological education relevant to and accessbile from your ministry context, while maintaining a high level of academic rigor and theological reflection.
