End of Year Worship Convocation: An Invitation
By: Northern Seminary
Guest post by: Sarah Becker, Northern Alumna
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7
We’re nearing an end.
For our graduating classmates it is an especially significant ending, but it is an ending for all of us.
There will be relief.
There will be joy.
There will be sleep.
All of this is good.
Every ending, every transition affects our lives in profound and sometimes unforeseen ways.
Transitions – good, bad, or neutral – are easier to handle when we take time to acknowledge them.
This is what we will do on this night.
We have gone through this year together, and so it is only right that we go through this transition together.
We are brain weary.
We are ready for the break.
Our time will be a celebration about how far we’ve come and to encourage all of us to keep going.
We will all be starting something new when the school year ends.
We will scatter to our chuches, our families, our summer jobs, and who knows what else.
Before we scatter, let us gather.
Let us gather as the unique and beautiful community of Northern Seminary.
At Northern, we walk together.
On this night, let us worship together, acknowledging the faithfulness of God!
Please join us for a time of worship as a community on Monday, May 23rd at 6:15pm in the Lindner Conference Center. This hour long service will be a time of reflection on the past year, celebrating the Lord’s faithfulness, and a commissioning for the coming summer.
Anyone who is or has ever been a part of the Northern community is invited to attend. Children are most welcome in the service, we just ask that they be closely supervised at all times.
