Discipleship and Mission- Doctoral
Northern Seminary has partnered with 3DM, a ministry which provides training and coaching in the areas of discipleship and mission, to offer a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to transform their ministry context into one founded on discipleship and driven by mission at the grassroots level.
3DM works with established churches and church plants, coming alongside them to transition to a lightweight, low maintenance way of being the church. We do this primarily through a two-year vehicle we call Learning Communities. Ministry leaders who have journeyed through a Learning Community with their leadership teams have seen a missional and discipleship explosion in their local ministry context.
Students interested in pursuing this emphasis as part of a program of study must participate in a Learning Community, as well as complete 3 "core" DMin courses on Northern's Lombard campus and a doctoral thesis. 3DM offers such communities in many cities throughout the country. In addition to participation in a learning community, students will work alongside a Northern professor to further integrate, implement, and engage the material. Students reflect theologically on topics discussed as part of a Huddle comprised of others participating in a Learning Community. Learn more about Partnership Programs at Northern Seminary.
The cost of the DMin in Discipleship and Mission is $13,500 and can be paid on a monthly basis throughout the program.
