Christian Community Development - Master's

Northern has developed specialized courses designed to fit the specific interests and needs of students who are focused on enriching their knowledge of urban ministry.
Individuals pursuing this emphasis will be equipped for ministry leadership that is:
Biblical. [Grounded in Scripture]
Combined with a comprehensive academic degree program that provides a solid foundation in the study of Scripture, church history, theology and ethics, Biblical Studies courses challenge the student to dig deeper into the Bible with courses ranging from Old or New Testament, to theology, ethics and biblical languages.
Missional. [Sharing Christ in Context]
Northern Seminary provides students with unique ways to learn how to share Christ in context. Through a variety of experiential and classroom learning experiences, students are challenged to apply knowledge to the contemporary context and are equipped for contextually-relevant ministry leadership.
Personal. [Holistic, Relational Ministry]
Individuals pursuing the Biblical Studies Emphasis benefit from Northern’s commitment to personal, holistic ministry training. What are the requirements of the Biblical Studies Emphasis?
The Biblical Studies Emphasis can be acquired by completing a combination of any five Biblical Studies electives as part of any of the following programs:
- Master of Divinity
- Master’s Specialization
- Master of Arts in Christian Ministry

- Theology and the Practice of Evangelism
- Creative Preaching in Urban Ministry
