Spirituality - Emphasis
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1, NRSV
Are you passionate about guiding the people of God in spiritual development, teaching them how to grow in relationship with Christ and leading them toward maturity in their faith?
If so, then you may want to consider pursuing the Spirituality emphasis at Northern Seminary.
Northern has developed specialized courses designed to fit the specific interests and needs of students who are focused on spiritual formation.
Individuals pursuing this emphasis will be equipped for ministry leadership that is:
Biblical. [Grounded in Scripture]
Combined with a comprehensive academic degree program that provides a solid foundation in the study of Scripture, church history, theology and ethics, the Spirituality emphasis challenges the student to engage in and reflect on issues ranging from life in the Spirit to the student’s own spiritual formation.
Missional. [Sharing Christ in Context]
Northern Seminary provides students with unique ways to learn how to share Christ in context. Through a variety of experiential learning or “field research” opportunities —which could include anything from gathering with other students at a weekend retreat to developing spiritual growth goals—students receive practical, first-hand training that will equip them for contextually-relevant ministry leadership.
Personal. [Holistic, Relational Ministry]
Individuals pursuing the Spirituality emphasis benefit from Northern’s commitment to personal, holistic ministry training. From the availability of professors to engage in discussion and guide students in discerning their call, to the opportunity to connect with other students on the same path, individuals experience a community that partners with them in their journey toward effective ministry leadership.
