Doctor of Ministry Candidacy
Admission to Doctor of Ministry Candidacy
Effective for students who begin after July 1, 2013
Admission to candidacy for the thesis phase of the DMin program is an action taken by the Doctor of Ministry Committee after completion of:
- DM 7015 Becoming Doctors of the Church
- DM 7020 Personal and Career Assessment
- DM 7045 Biblical and Theological Reflection on Ministry and Culture
Students exhibiting clear evidence of personal, ministerial and theological readiness to successfully complete the thesis phase of the DMin program with academic integrity will receive Candidacy Status.
Applying for Candidacy
Upon completion of DM 7045 Biblical and Theological Reflection on Ministry and Culture, the Doctor of Ministry Office will register students for DM7059 DMin Candidacy. A recommendation regarding admission to Doctor of Ministry Candidacy will be brought from the Dean of Academic Programs and Thesis Director for Admission to the Doctor of Ministry Committee of the faculty for approval. The recommendation will be based upon review of the following documentation:
- Transcript and Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Personal and Career Assessment
- DM 7045 Biblical and Theological Reflection on Ministry and Culture final paper
- Written recommendation from professors of DM 7015 Becoming Drs of the Church and DM 7045 Biblical and Theological Reflection on Ministry and Culture
Upon recommendation of the Doctor of Ministry Committee, students are admitted to candidacy and may register for DM7060 Thesis Design.
