Student Resources

Campus Pastor

Jeff Hubing, affiliate professor of New Testament, and Pastoral Leader at Abundunt Life World Outreach is on campus to help students navigate the waters of ministry, and to provide a sounding board for the challenges they will face academically, spiritually, and vocationally while at Northern.

Residential Floor Leaders

Each floor of the student apartments has a Residential Floor Leader (RFL) who resides in the building and is committed to building community at Northern Seminary. RFLs assist in welcoming new residents, coordinating floor and campus activities, assisting in emergency evacuations, and serving as a resource to residents. They also plan special events for the entire seminary body.

Computer Lab

Registered students may use the computer lab, located in the upper level of Kern commons, for word processing and internet access. The lab is open 24 hours a day, and requires a key card which can be obtained from the Business Office by completing an application and paying a $20 refundable deposit. After hours key-card entry into Kern Hall can be accessed from the wooden door near classroom 202, in the hallway facing the quad and library.

Students using the lab will need to provide their own USB flash drive. Northern uses a filtering system that is minimally intrusive. Anyone caught viewing or distributing inappropriate material in the computer lab will have their lab privileges revoked and lose their deposit.

Each student receives 100 printouts/copies each regular term for the computer lab or the library. Copies over 100 are billed at 5 cents. In Summer Term, all copies are billed at  5 cents each. Students will receive a copier code and password by email at the beginning of the term of study which will be used to print, to enter the student portal, to use the campus wireless internet, or to access moodle. No food, drinks or children are allowed in the computer lab.
