"Urban Field Experience: Chicago III" - Designed to acquaint participants with the sociocultural dynamics that affect the quality of life, inform theology and challenge the manner in which ministry is conducted in our urban world. There will be visits, observations and interviews throughout the greater Chicago area.

"Pursuing God's Will Together" - In this course, we will explore discernment as the heart of spiritual leadership. We will develop biblical and theological foundations for discernment as the heart of spiritual leadership and then identifiy a clear and substantive process by which groups of leaders can become communities for discernment and the practice of discernment together.

- "Spiritual Warfare" - This course will introduce students to spiritual warfare in order for them to be knowledgeable of and conversant with literature, ideas and practices in this area.

"Congregational Wellness" - What makes American congregations work? What are the markers of effective ministry? How do we measure congregational health? Those questions and more will be addressed as we explore the subject of congregational health. As we approach our subject, we will affirm the biblical principle that the local church is the body of Christ in a community and that this body is only as healthy as its weakest system. In the process, we will identify the essesential systems and the church and the markers of congregational health.

"The Revelation of John" - This course is a study of the Revelation of John in terms of its dramatic features and its socio-historical context, as well as its fascinating structure, genre and theology. Attention will be given to the nature of apocalyptic literature and the relevance of Revelation for today.

"Mediation and Conflict Training" - This course is held at the Mediation Skills Training Institute at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. It is a one-week intensive involving lectures, discussion and guided practice. The sessions emphasize hands-on skills and role-plays based on actual conflicts. A separate registration with the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center is required, including an additional fee of $695 by July 11. Masters students can receive a $695 tuition credit at Northern when they register and bring in the original receipt of payment of this fee.
