Charles Hambrick-Stowe is a well-known historian of American Christianity who is also a veteran pastor, having served churches in Pennsylvania and Maryland for 22 years. He and his wife Elizabeth, following seminary and ordination, were also missionaries in Japan for two years. Dr. Hambrick-Stowe is the author of seven books and numerous articles, most notably two books on colonial American Puritan spirituality and an award-winning biography of the nineteenth-century revivalist and social reformer, Charles G. Finney. He has served as dean and professor at Northern Seminary since 2004.
