Gary Sattler

Affiliate Professor of Church History and Pastoral Care

Gary Sattler is a pastoral counselor and research psychoanalyst practicing in Flossmoor, IL. He teaches 'The History of Christian Spirituality' in the D.Min. program at Fuller Theological Seminary, is Affiliate Professor of Church History and Pastoral Care at Northern, and is instructor of contemporary psychoanalytic theory at the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. Among his publications are two books on church history, book reviews, and chapters and articles by early psychoanalysts such as Freud, Reich, Rado and others. Also a Presbyterian minister, he leads retreats and seminars on spirituality, meditation and men's issues. He has been an invited speaker on psychoanalysis and religion in the United States and Europe.  He is married to the Rev. Lynn Cheyney, Senior Pastor of Floosmoor Community Church in Floosmoor, IL.
