Northern Alums Blaze a Trail in Maryland
Jermaine and Michelle Johnson had a vision: that they would birth a ministry that would be a catalyst for transformation and discipleship, inspiring cultures and influencing communities through love. After much prayer and direction from the Lord, their vision has recently become a reality. Early November marked the launch of Word of Life Christian Community Church in Baltimore, Maryland where they have officially cleared government status to be recognized as a 501c3 non-profit organization, and have begun leading Sunday worship services and mid-week bible studies.
The couple have proven themselves as leaders with a heart for ministry. Both Jermaine and Michelle attended and received their Masters of Divinity from Northern Seminary in 2007, where they both won the school’s Leadership Award. Jermaine has done ministry all over the world, including Israel, Egypt, Nicaragua, and Thailand in an effort to meet the needs of God’s people over the world. Michelle’s passion extends to the areas of discipleship through Christian education and the practice of worship.
They continue to stand on their mission of striving to be ambassadors of hope, courage, and faith through the power of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.
