Crafting the Worship Set: Choosing Songs for Your Congregation

We have centuries worth of hymns and worship songs to choose from when designing a worship service. So how do you decide what to sing in your church? This workshop will look at musical and theological tools for discerning the best songs for your congregational worship.

Everything but Sermon and Song
Taught by Dr. Sam Hamstra

Each week Christians gather for worship to hear sermons, sing songs, and more. This workshop will look at everything but sermon and song. We will explore the variety of prayers offered during weekly gatherings of Christians, as well some or all of the following elements: testimony, sacraments/ ordinances, creeds and confessions, children’s sermons, announcements, and greetings.

Worship and Discipleship
Taught by Dan Tinquist

Training ourselves in discipleship is important and infinitely more helpful that just “trying the next discipling formula.”

What is discipleship? How does it play out within a worship team? Those are great questions that we ourselves are wrestling with. This workshop will not give you all the answers about discipleship, but you will come away with helpful questions to process on how discipleship can play out in your context. I also will offer some helpful tips to begin implementing back home.
