Virtual lombard campus celebration

Northern completed the sale of the Lombard campus in April. A full announcement is available on our website. To mark this “Ebenezer moment,” join us for a virtual celebration ceremony on June 10 at noon CST at the Lisle Center. You may register here  for the celebration service.

All students are encouraged to watch the Fall 2021 Convocation online via Facebook Live. The only people permitted to be at convocation in person are the student speakers and guests, and faculty and staff.

Our student speaker will be Garrett Black, graduating with his Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Garrett is the Student Ministry Pastor at Hobson Road Community Church and a freelance photographer and videographer.





Commencement Ceremony

The commencement service will take place on Saturday, June 12th, at 10:00 AM in the main sanctuary of Christ Church of Oak Brook, located at 501 Oak Brook Rd. Oak Brook, IL 60523. There will be signs to help you find the parking.

The 2021 Commencement speaker will be Dr. John Upton, executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

Dr. John Upton has been the Executive Director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) since 2002. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, John served as a pastor; and and he and his wife Deborah served as missionaries in Taiwan. John has also served a five year term as President of the Baptist World Alliance. The Uptons have two sons, Christopher and Richard, a daughter, Emily, and four grandchildren. John assumed his responsibilities as Executive Director of the VBMB/BGAV on March 1, 2002.

Handicap Access: There is handicap access at Christ Church Oak Brook. 


  • Graduates can have 5 guests in attendance that will be asked to sit together as much as possible
  • Every graduate and guest will be asked to provide their name, phone number, and email
  • Guests will enter the building via Door 1. Their temperature will be taken and once cleared, their name willed be checked off of the guest list.
  • Students will enter the building via Door 17. Their temperature will be taken and once cleared, their name will be checked off the student list.
  • Once admitted, students will proceed to Fellowship Room 3 for robing.
  • For the processional, faculty and students will be lined up socially distanced in the 230s corridor and then proceed into the sanctuary
  • To the degree possible, guests from the same family should sit close to one another in groups to ensure that there is enough room in the sanctuary to accommodate all guests
  • At the conclusion of the service, ushers will dismiss the guests by rows to avoid crowding and maintain social distancing.
