Northern Begins Search for Professor of New Testament
Dr. Charlie Cosgrove, a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, has served Northern and its students with excellence and passion for twenty-seven years as a Professor of New Testament. Beloved by countless students, Dr. Cosgrove has been a gift to the Northern community at large. This fall, however, Dr. Cosgrove will betransitioning to an exciting new role at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary where we all fully expect he will be received with a level of enthusiasm that matches our deep sense of gratitude. He will be dearly missed and not easily replaced.
While we are genuinely excited for the opportunity God has led Dr. Cosgrove to, we are equally excited for what God has in store for Northern in a season of incredible advancement. As we continue to develop a world-class faculty team that not only meets the needs of our current and prospective students, but opens doors to new innovative and effective programs, seeking out a new Professor of New Testament will be among our top priorities for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Please join us in thanking Dr. Cosgrove for his years of service and investment in Northern students as a professor. Join us as well in praying for discernment as we begin this process of seeking out and selecting a new Professor of New Testament, not so much to replace Dr. Cosgrove, but to carry on and extend his efforts as Northern responds to all that we see God doing in our midst. An official position announcement will be available by late summer/early fall.
