President’s April Newsletter 2022
Pastors and Bible teachers long for more profound knowledge and significant insights to share with their groups. There is only so much self-guided learning a person can do. Northern provides more than just content for teachers. We immerse students in historical contexts, learning communities, and worshipful gatherings.
Just consider the experience of our New Testament and Preaching students at the end of March.

This 3-day, in-depth program will be taught by engaging professors, theological scholars and ministry leaders to better equip women in the arenas of sound biblical exegesis, hermeneutics, and practical theology.
Participation in the The Kerygma Summit may count as an elective course in Northern Seminary’s Women and Theology program. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information on receiving academic credit.

The Rise of the Umms
By Mike Moore
As Featured in Christianity Today
“For the first time in my nearly 40 years, I do not belong to a church body. Each Sunday I awake with a longing to gather around song, Scripture, and sacrament. Most of those mornings my wife and I walk to the nursing home to celebrate the Eucharist with a faithful but forgotten few. This year my wife and I want to plant a church in Chicagoland, but many weeks I am left wondering, Where do we fit in?”

I was introduced to the Center for Women in Leadership through their inaugural event – TOV for Women. In my close to 20 years of experience in Women’s Ministry and Leadership, I was both impressed and delighted by the topics that were featured at this event. I felt deeply honored to be a part of that bold, authentic, powerful yet humble outreach to women all over the world. To be invited into a long past due conversation about trauma recovery as a non-negotiable part of the discipleship journey was refreshing, inspiring and without a doubt – the will of God for His church in our generation.
