President’s March Newsletter
In the 16th century, Ignatius of Loyola designed the curriculum for one of the first seminaries. His “School of Theology” trained pastors to grow in their love for God and neighbor. The biblical and theological courses taught students to deepen their love for God. The pastoral ministry courses (preaching, serving communion, and baptism) equipped students to love their neighbors.
Seminaries today continue in that tradition. This summer at Northern we’ll offer our Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Ministry degrees through Northern Live. Students can stay home, learn in context, deepen their faith, and extend God’s mission. Learn more here, recommend a student, or provide a scholarship for this first cohort.
