Ruth Haley Barton Summit

Pursuing God’s Will Together: A Discernment Summit, is coming to the campus of Northern Seminary this October.

What is the Discernment Summit? It will be an intimate gathering of leaders, each learning and growing in discernment for their unique settings. In partnership with InterVarsity Press and The Transforming Center, Northern Seminary will host this group of leaders from across the country. The goal of the Summit will be to empower Christian leaders and equip them to serve in their own settings.

Dr. Ruth Haley Barton and the Transforming Center team will be presenting and teaching based from the book Pursuing God’s Will Together: A Discernment Practice for Leadership Groups. The Summit is ideal for teams, however, if you do come alone, you will be placed in a team with other like-minded individuals.

Northern Seminary offers two academic programs in partnership with the Transforming Center. Current or prospective Northern students can learn more about the Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Transformation here, as well as the Emphasis in Spiritual Transformation for Masters students. Each of those programs are connected to the Transforming Center’s Transforming Community. Northern will be launching a new program with the Transforming Center this fall. The program will be connected to the Transforming Center’s Leading a Transforming Church program and will offer a Doctor of Ministry in Transforming Leadership. Attending the Summit may be a great way to explore and discern if pursuing a degree in Spiritual Transformation or Transforming Leadership is right for you.

The Summit will be held at the Lindner Conference Center on October 12 and 13, Friday 8:00 a.m. through Saturday 5:00 p.m. The cost will be $350 per person. Group rates are available. Please visit The Transforming Center’s website for additional details.
