Faces of Northern: Meet Alicia Peconio

May 25, 2023

Northern Seminary is comprised of people who are excited about what God is doing in the world today and who believe that Northern plays an important role in equipping and inspiring church leaders of today and tomorrow.  In this series, Faces of Northern, we invite you to learn more about those who make Northern what it is today. Here, we get to know Alicia Peconio, Director of Academic Operations/Chief Compliance Officer.

What is your role at Northern and how long have you been here?

I am the Director of Academic Operations and Chief Compliance Officer. I have been working here since July 25, 2022.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love solving problems and making things run smoothly so people (whether student, staff, or faculty) can have the best experience.

What is the best book you have read in the past year?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab

What are your go-to scripture verses?

  • Exodus 14:14
  • Psalm 56:3
  • Revelation 21:5

If you have a free day with no responsibilities, what would you fill that day with?

Sleeping in, waking up with a big cup of coffee and brunch, spending time with my husband, and reading a good book.

Who has impacted you the most, and why?

My brother James. He passed away in 2018 and that experience changed me and how I live my life. He was also my biggest fan and supporter.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you want?

  • Coffee
  • Books
  • Journal

What’s your superpower – that thing that you think you are really good at?

I have been nicknamed “The Administrative Wizard” or “Gandalf the White,” because I am highly administrative but also a people person (which is not a typical combination).
