In this series, Faces of Northern, we invite you to learn more about those who make Northern what it is today. Here, we get to know Dr. Michael Moore, Dean of Mission and Integration.

What is your role at Northern and how long have you been here?
I am the Dean of Mission and Integration. I have been here five years.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love working with the amazing Northern team and any interaction with our incredible students.
What is the best book you have read in the past year?
I haven’t read all of it (and I just won’t), but am cutting my way through A Secular Age by Charles Taylor.
What is your go-to scripture verse?
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
If you have a free day with no responsibilities, what would you fill that day with?
Two things: activities outside and spending time with friends/family.
Who has impacted you the most, and why?
Does Jesus count? Otherwise, my parents.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you want?
- A ball
- A very large lighter
- And a tarp
What’s your superpower – that thing that you think you are really good at?
I’m good at connecting with people and pretty skilled a soccer (I still play a few times a week!).
